Chateau Castigno is located in the absolutely stunning area completely picturesque. Two good restaurants in the village of Assignan including a great breakfast.. many others within a short driving distance. The cave is an architectural gem with a thoughtful caring winemaker at the helm. Delicious!
Our experience at Demeure Flore was exceptional and one of a kind. Fracesco welcomed us warmly and made us the best meal of our trip which we enjoyed in his lovely garden nestled in the French countryside. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean and it was like finding an oasis after a few long days of travel. The only sad thing was we were only able to stay one night. We hope to return some day. This was clearly the nicest place we stayed on our bike trip from Carcassonne to Sete. The host couple, Natalie and Sebastien, could not have more welcoming or helpful. Their quiet little chambres de hotes is very close to the Canal du Midi path and very relaxing. The swimming pool was a delight after a day on the bike and they served us beers poolside (extra charge). Their extremely friendly pup, Violette, was an unexpected delight. I recommend taking them up on the offer for a seat at...
A hidden gem, really enjoyed our time there. Tomas & Greda has a little slice of heaven. The home is historic and the gardens beautiful. Love the daily breakfast and the welcome glass of sparkling wine. A perfect base to explore the area.
The Chateau lies gently uphill from the town center, and is a mid 19th century building beautifully restored and expanded on the the premises, which are surround by vineyards. Beautiful, calm, and beautifully cared for, our visit exceeded our expectations. The staff was knowlegable, spoke good English, and catered to our every need. Dinner at their restaurant was wonderful - and we enjoyed a wine tasting prior to dinner, one of a planned series of events to make the chateau a center of both...
We reserved this hotel because it was not far from Narbonne and had easy parking, but we didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say, it exceeded our expectations. Superb service from the front desk, delicious and full breakfast, very comfy bed and strong air conditioning. It was the perfect stop on our road trip.
