Everything was very nice except the discriptiom of the room. You should not put beach front if you don't have one. You say it's ok the side but that's not realistic either it's a ways distance for some room.
The Port Royal is an exceptional hotel in every respect, especially for one at the Jersey Shore. I feel like we really lucked out with this stay. Planned only 2 weeks prior, we booked accommodations last minute and took a chance on Avondale. It was perfect! Right on Beach Ave. in Cape May, we had view of the ocean from our balcony area. Upon booking, I received a call within 30 minutes from Avondale to confirm our stay and to ask us if we were OK with with walking up the stairs to 2nd or 3rd floor as there is no elevator. Not a problem for us and the 2nd floor facing the beach was perfect....

The Starfire was great! Very close to the Boardwalk and beach. Parking was easy. Room was clean and well supplied. No staff on actual property, but the sister motel next door was immediately available and helpful. The pool was closed, but in fairness I may not have noticed that at booking. All in all a great place to stay!

We lived this hotel. Very clean and quiet.. The staff were very friendly.. The hotel is only a block from the boardwalk. We lived the pool. The staff cleaned it everyday and the water was warm!! We will be back!!
I booked this for the price and that it was 1 block to boardwalk and beach. It is one of the older small hotels, and perfectly adequate with decent furniture, new paint, clean pool area. But the room floor was grody. It needed a really good cleaning, walking barefoot made our feet black. And internet almost never worked.
Front desk staff very nice and helpful, rooms were comfy and clean, close to the beach and not too far from the beginning of the boardwalk. Had elevator which was great when your room is on the 3rd floor.
