Learn more about Waitsfield
Between covered bridges and the flowing Mad River, this Vermont village offers a perfect slice of New England charm. Duck into the Mad River Glass Gallery to watch artisans shape molten magic, then catch an indie film at The Big Picture Theater. The Mad River Valley transforms with the seasons – summer brings hikers to Green Mountain National Forest trails, while winter draws powder-seekers to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen's legendary slopes. Main Street's historic buildings house cafes where locals debate the merits of neighboring maple farms. For the full experience, time a visit during fall foliage when the valley erupts in colors that seem almost deliberately arranged for your social media feed.

Tälta Lodge, A Bluebird by Lark
"This is one of my favorite hotels. The staff are always accommodating, the rooms are clean and bright, decorated in a European minimalist style, the pool is gorgeous and the hot tub is quite pleasant. My wife and I travel with our dog and he is treated as a valued guest as well, which is a heartwarming thing. Definitely my "go-to" whenever we're in Stowe!"
The Essex Resort & Spa
"We slept at the resort after our reunion in the Farmhouse. It was a lovely experience! I was able to get dressed before, relax after…and sleep in!"

Mad River Inn
"From our first contact, Brandon, the owner, was most helpful in arranging our stay. Our room was well furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfasts were varied, customized to our tastes, and high quality. Brandon’s tips on what to see and do were tailored to our interests. After expressing our interest to visit a local museum that was closed, Brandon called the owner and arranged for the caretaker to let us in and give us an introduction to the history All the spaces in the Inn and surrounding garden were comfortable and offered a variety of things to do"
Hyde Away Inn
"The tub floor was too slippery and the bed a bit too high. The restaurant was great. Service was great. Nice place to stay overall."
