Lagos' Centro Histórico captivates with cobblestone streets winding past 16th-century walls and golden churches adorned with azulejo tiles. The haunting former slave market stands as a sobering historical monument while ancient fortifications frame stunning harbor views. Porto de Mós wraps you in a golden sand dream framed by dramatic ochre cliffs that practically beg to be photographed. This peaceful pocket of the Algarve offers the perfect escape from Lagos' busier spots with scenic coastal trails winding along the Atlantic. The neighborhood serves up fresh seafood at beachfront restaurants where you can watch the sunset paint the cliffs. Modern holiday apartments and villas with sea views make up most accommodations, though public transport is limited so having a car is smart. Beach season brings the area to life, but even then, you'll find plenty of quiet spots along the coastal paths.
Ameijeira gives you the best of both worlds in Lagos—calm residential streets just a short stroll from stunning beaches. Walk to Praia da Batata or Praia do Pinhão for golden sands and azure waters without the tourist crush. The neighborhood feels authentically Portuguese with its whitewashed homes and terracotta roofs, perfect for travelers who want local flavor.
You'll need to head into Lagos center for restaurants and shopping, just 15-20 minutes away on foot. Most accommodations here are upscale vacation rentals and private villas with pools, ideal for those seeking a peaceful home base with easy beach access.

Small nice hotel in the middle of Lagos, convenient to everything. Room was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with varied choices. Bar is well stocked with outside seating. Would be glad to stay there again.
Room and free food were a touch basic and 100% satisfactory (coffee, tea, water, milk; bread, packaged croissants, cheese, cold cuts, eggs, jams, cereal). Right on the mark for the price. Location is close to local grocery options, but a hearty walk to old town activity or the beach. I did the walk each day, but some may prefer a ride or bus.
Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Good location.
I had problems with the bathroom. Very bad design of the shower . While i was taking shower the water was simply going directly in the midle of the room !!! It could be be fixed very fast and very cheap. I couldn t understand why it wasn t done ????!!!!!. Shower needs a small shelf for cosmetics. Toilet wasn t phonic isolated from the main room. Overall very bad design of the room.
We stayed a quick 3 days and had a blast. Everyone was super friendly and inviting, breakfast was awesome, quick walk to the beach and a number of great restaurants, plus we were super excited for one of the better small hotel gyms we've been in - if your hotel has barbells and weights over 20kg, they're doing something right :)
We'll certainly be recommending Lagos Atlantic to others and will hopefully be back in the future for more than just a few days!
The hotel is well located, very walkable, and very convenient- it is right across from the bridge to the marina for tours and very walkable to a range of shops and restaurants. There are very limited hotel parking spots, but there are two parking lots within 1-2 blocks that always had spots in at least one of them if not both and there is free parking right across the pedestrian bridge at the marina. The rooms are clean and nice. The buffet is amazing. Everyone was friendly. I felt safe as a...
The building has a lot of charm. Plants, flowers and classic Portuguese interior design. It feels you are in a farmhouse, not in a hotel. The breakfast was great with so many options. The attic room where we stayed was so spacious, with a huge bathroom and a private terrace. I'd point out that they gave us combined twin beds and not a queen/king bad, which wasn't ideal. Also, the listing mention that they have three pools which is not true. There is only one pool available. The other images are...
The place was beautiful and the owners were beyond accommodating. We had so much fun relaxing at the pool and going to the beach in the morning. It’s a little outside of Lagos but definitely worth the stay
Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. We paid a little more for the ocean view, which was totally worth it. You have your own deck area overlooking the pool and ocean views. Breakfast was really good with a lot of choices. Everything was easily walkable. No parking for hotel but there is a paid garage right by the hotel.
Gorgeous! After a long drive from Evora, Cascade was a dream come true!
Perfect weather, perfect setting, beautiful room, great martinis, lovely staff, steamy steam, all was fabulous. We will be back. Can’t be soon enough!
Great place. The pool was perfect for our family, great place to cool off in the summer heat. The villa worked great and was nice to have a parking spot right in front. We were there over my birthday and the staff left a nice card and bottle of wine for me. Town was just a quick drive or 20 min walk from the hotel. Will be recommending to friends and family.
