Learn more about Fort William
Gazing up at Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak, makes even seasoned hikers feel delightfully insignificant. The West Highland Museum reveals tales of Jacobite rebellion that seem to whisper from stone walls. Take 'The Jacobite' steam train across the Glenfinnan Viaduct - yes, the one from Harry Potter - where the carriages clack satisfyingly over each arch. After conquering mountain trails, reward aching muscles with a tour of Ben Nevis Distillery, where whisky-making traditions remain gloriously unchanged. Neptune's Staircase, a clever series of canal locks, provides front-row seats to boats rising like magic through the water. For a perfect day, hike to Steall Waterfall in Glen Nevis, where the cascade appears like nature showing off.

Corran Bunkhouse
"I wrongly book this for my family, that I did not realise that bunkhouse is similar to hostel. Cons: due to my mistakes, I did not expect - the room is too small for 5 ppl family - most facilities are shared with others - a bit hard to find the location. Luckily there is a notice on a nearby building pointing us to the right plave Pros: - really helpful in providing travel trips - if one arrives late that all restaurants are closed, "emergency pizza" can be provided - toilet is surprisingly new, large, and clean. Conclusion: At the end, this is still a right choice to stay for one night"
Inverlochy Castle
"Beautiful setting, but very formal annd old school. Staff not nearly as polished as what we saw in Edinburgh hotel experience. Also, food not nearly up to the hype, but kind of expected in such a country location."
Maclean Guest House
"We stayed in a twin room and it was excellent. So clean, warm and welcoming. Felt very homely. Check in had to be scheduled ahead of arrival since the hotel isn't always staffed. So just be aware of that. Check in was quick and easy. I'd definitely stay again."
Creag Mhor Lodge
"Lovely B&B in a converted 1890 building with incredible views over the loch and surrounding hills. Claire and the staff were welcoming, really helpful and knowledgeable about local affairs. We had the delicious home-cooked highland beef stew and fantastic apple crumble with custard on the first night (so good we went back for more the second night) and great breakfast selection. Clean and comfy rooms, wonderful lounge with board games and an excellent selection of whisky."
Nevis Bank Inn
"Clean room. Friendly and helpful. Had a great meal at the Browne restaurant inside the hotel as well. Appreciated the convenience and quality, tasty meal without having to research where to eat."
Ben Nevis Hotel & Leisure Club
"Breakfast was good; plentiful and varied. Room and bed were comfortable. Hotel had seen better days but remodelling seems to be under way."
Linnhe Lochside Holidays
"Loved this place, fully intend to return soon."
The Caledonian Hotel
"Comfy beds, nice room, clean bathroom. Good place to lay your head for the night."
Premier Inn Fort William
"Property was ok and rooms were spacious enough but overall a little tired. None of the tap beers were working in the bar and not many choices for beer. Breakfast had a good selection. Shoutout to Melanie in the bar she was awesome. Alex and Patrick were very helpful and found rest of the staff great as well ensuring we were happy. Location was great as well as a five minute walk to high street where all the bars and shopping were located."
