Learn more about Bluff

Ancient sandstone formations stand sentinel over this tiny desert town where the San Juan River carves through red rock country. Discover Ancestral Puebloan history at nearby Bears Ears National Monument, with cliff dwellings and petroglyphs telling thousand-year-old stories. The Sand Island Petroglyphs offer ancient rock art without crowds. Take a guided river rafting trip for a unique perspective. Twin Rocks' dramatic silhouette provides the perfect sunset photo backdrop. Bluff Fort recreates pioneer life with detail and zero stuffiness. Local galleries showcase authentic Native American art from Navajo and Ute artists. Come in October for the hot air balloon festival when colorful balloons drift above this high desert landscape.

Bluff Dwellings Resort

Bluff Dwellings Resort

8/10 Good
"Beautiful property, with two caveats. First, it should be illegal to have third floor rooms without an elevator...really unpleasant to lug luggage up and down stairs. Second, the parking lot is VERY dark at night. I left at 4am and found it very challenging to navigate back out to the highway. The rooms are very nice."

Kokopelli Inn

Kokopelli Inn

8/10 Good
"If you require ADA accommodation do not book this location. There are no mobility features such as grab bars for toilet or shower. It is however a comfortable lodging for this excellent southeast Utah area with many attractions including the local Twin Rocks trading post and cafe for breakfast and lunch."

"Peaceful, magical home (both inside and out) -- surrounded by gorgeous canyon cliffs. Kathryn (Kate) was an attentive host, and we felt so well taken care of. The dark night sky was amazing -- full of endless stars. The home was super comfy! We highly recommend staying here."
