Learn more about Carthage
Discover the quirky charm of America's Maple Leaf City, where the 66 Drive-In Theatre still flickers with nostalgic glow under summer stars. The ornate Jasper County Courthouse presides over a town square that seems frozen in a more gracious era. Civil War buffs can explore the Battle of Carthage State Historic Site, where interpretive signs explain the conflict with surprising candor. The Precious Moments Chapel showcases an unexpected artistic vision - think Sistine Chapel as reimagined by big-eyed cherubs. For a truly surreal experience, wander through Red Oak II, an entire reconstructed ghost town that feels like walking through an eccentric artist's dream. The local diners serve pie that would make your grandmother competitive.

Super 8 by Wyndham Carthage
10/10 Excellent
"Check in was very efficient with friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and everything worked (including drains) If you are looking for a place to crash, this hotel is great."
Rodeway Inn
10/10 Excellent
"all was great"
Guest House Motel
8/10 Good
"The Guest House in Carthage is your basic 1960’s Motel that has been renovated with updated interiors and a good kiss of maintenance on the outside. Everything was clean. Nothing was particularly special, but it was what I needed near the end of a long motorcycle journey. The gentleman who checked me in was professional, kind, and polite, even lending me his carport to protect my bike from the elements and provide a modicum of security. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to a friend as an inexpensive place to lay their head for the night."
