Our stay at Deer Valley Lodge was one of the most comfortable stays we've had. We loved Cave of the Mounds so close by. The two 7 year olds we had absolutely loved the smaller scale water park. 3 slides, large pool, small pool, hot tub, life jackets, & lifeguards. The beds and bedding were perfect. The air conditioner was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great! Very clean place and very friendly staff. We booked again for July 4th weekend to take in House on the Rock.
Found this to be a very nice hotel. Would recommend to anyone going in that direction. Staff were all friendly & helpful. Continental breakfast was very good, in a large room, clean & enjoyable. Coffee available at all times.
This is a wonderful little historic stay in the heart of Southern Wisconsin. Of neat and entertaining items to look at in the hotel. Cute little town with lots of activities in the region.
I made a mistake with the pet policy and Mike helped me out. I was moving my daughters from WI to CO and we were leaving at 3a. Mike had his staff make us a goodie basket for breakfast because we were leaving so early.

To be honest I expected a tiny, unkempt, bare neccessites room with no TV. I was totally AMAZED at how much they packed into that small room (14) HUGE king bed, nice TV w/ lots of channels, microwave, small fridge, ULTRA-CLEAN room, bathroom and stand-up shower. I got there late (9PM) and nobody was at the desk (of course) but when I pushed the button I got immediate service with a smile. No contintental breakfast but WHO CARES!! Will stay there again for sure.

I'll always find a hair on the floor, mold around the tub or tear on the bed sheets or dust in the corner of a room. NOT in this one! Very nice bed sheets! Clean, no dust, no hair! The fridge was clean, the room was big. We arrived way early prior to check in and the staff managed to put us in 2 very clean...
We are returning customers, going back for at least a decade. Whenever we are not camping at Governors Dodge State Park, this is where we stay. Last year there were some very serious issues with our room. Broken this, broken that and yes, the building is old, probably needing a serious rehab but as we all know, that's expensive. This year's stay was an improvement overall. The breakfast received a bit of an upgrade. I saw new faces at the font desk and they were all exceptionally friendly and...
We were there for a couple of days to see relatives and do some sightseeing in the area. Very comfortable and accommodating. My daughter even had a tummy ache and they were nice enough to give me a piece of bread in the evening since she couldn't hold down normal outside food. Very friendly service. Thank you!
We were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely family run hotel. The room was clean and sufficient. It appeared to be recently updated. The bathrooms had Kohler fixtures and a tub with jets. Service was excellent. It was close, just over 5 minutes, to Taliesin. They also gave us a discount to Taliesin. We didn’t try the pool, but it looked nice. It was a perfect place to stay.
The room, while not large, was well thought out. The shower was large and you could step right into it. There were safety bars in good locations and the shower faucet was easy to use and regulate. The sink had a nice amount of space around it. Ice could be gotten from an ice machine in the lobby. There was a water machine next to it so that you could fill your water bottle with ice then water. Breakfast was free with pancakes you could make yourself, scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, and oatmeal....
I was very impressed. I fly a jet out of the small airport at Sauk Prairie. Had a very early morning flight. I live 2 hour drive away. I was pleasantly surprised at the nice room. Everything seemed new. Quiet. Peaceful and slept well. Comfortable pillows and nice bathroom. Highly recommend this motel.
