Top neighborhoods in Vail

Corona de Tucson

Corona de Tucson offers a peaceful desert retreat away from Tucson's urban bustle. The quiet residential community sits near stunning Saguaro National Park, where towering cacti create an otherworldly landscape perfect for hiking and photography. Adventure seekers can catch races at Tucson Speedway or explore the winding trails of Sycamore Canyon Park. Affordable lodging options make this area budget-friendly for travelers wanting both value and desert beauty. A personal vehicle is essential since public transit is limited, but the trade-off is worth it. The sparse dining scene focuses on casual American and Mexican cuisine, with strip mall locations perfect for refueling after a day of desert exploration.

Rancho del Lago

Rancho del Lago offers a peaceful escape from city life with wide, quiet streets perfect for morning strolls. The Del Lago Golf Club stands as the neighborhood's centerpiece, surrounded by stylish Southwestern homes and desert landscaping. Mountain views create a stunning backdrop for this residential retreat where you can experience authentic suburban Arizona living. Getting around requires a car since public transit is limited, but that's a small price for the serenity. You'll find more dining and shopping options by venturing to nearby Vail or Tucson. Vacation rentals in spacious single-family homes provide comfortable accommodations for travelers seeking a quieter side of Arizona.

New Tucson

New Tucson offers a peaceful retreat from Tucson's urban buzz, with newer housing developments against the dramatic backdrop of the Rincon Mountains. This family-friendly area gives travelers easy access to outdoor adventures like hiking desert trails and exploring Sycamore Canyon Park. Most dining options feature casual American fare along main corridors, with shopping limited to essential strip malls. A rental car is practically a must-have since public transit is sparse. Budget-conscious travelers will appreciate the affordable lodging options that serve as a perfect home base for day trips to central Tucson's attractions.

Rincon Trails

Rincon Trails delivers desert beauty with bonus mountain views minus the tourist crowds. Hikers and bikers fall hard for the extensive trail network connecting to the rugged Rincon Mountains. After catching your breath from those sweeping desert vistas, head to nearby Del Lago Golf Club or explore the fascinating underground world of Colossal Cave Mountain Park. Getting around requires wheels - either your own car or a patient attitude for ride-shares. While dining options within the neighborhood are scarce, comfortable vacation rentals and private guest suites offer good value compared to pricier Arizona resorts. This quiet residential community serves up authentic suburban Southwest living with stunning stargazing opportunities.

Learn more about Vail

Descend into the depths of Colossal Cave Mountain Park, where limestone chambers whisper tales of outlaws who once hid their loot in these natural vaults. The Rincon Mountains District of Saguaro National Park offers trails winding through forests of iconic cacti, arms raised like desert sentinels. Cool off at Tanque Verde Falls after a dusty hike, where desert-parched travelers are rewarded with refreshing pools. Local ranching heritage lives on through horseback adventures across landscapes that haven't changed since the Vail brothers established their spreads in the 1800s. For a taste of the unexpected, Charron Vineyards proves grapes can thrive alongside cacti, offering wine tastings with mountain views. Del Lago Golf Club provides manicured greens amid rugged terrain.

8/10 Good
"Stayed overnight after surgery. Hotel was clean, staff were wonderful. Sad that there was no restaurant in hotel open earlier than 5. Hotel comped an appetizer and drink there but I was already sawing logs. Bed was very comfy; no foreign body odor smells on the linens. Could not get the lights on each side of the bed to turn on, so had to rely on one across the room. Also, the light on the desk did not work. Disappointed that the hotel only offered direct tv to view. I could not locate info on how to connect to Wi-Fi, and lack of light in the room was the main issue. In spite of all the minutiae, I’d definitely stay there again."
