Top neighborhoods in Orinda

Claremont
Claremont's tree-lined streets and hillside trails offer a peaceful retreat from city life. The historic Claremont Club & Spa anchors this affluent East Bay enclave with its distinctive white towers and panoramic Bay Area views. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore nearby Tilden Regional Park or wander quiet residential streets dotted with elegant estates and Mediterranean Revival architecture. Resort dining showcases California cuisine with wine country influences, though you'll need a car to reach most attractions. Tennis courts, spa services, and manicured gardens provide plenty of relaxation options. The neighborhood's natural beauty shines through mature oak trees and morning fog rolling through eucalyptus groves.
Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow offers a peaceful retreat with tree-lined streets and spacious yards perfect for travelers craving a taste of upscale California suburban living. The neighborhood sits close to Briones Regional Park, where hiking trails wind through stunning natural landscapes. While there aren't tourist attractions within its boundaries, the area's charm lies in its pristine atmosphere and quiet, winding streets. Most dining and shopping requires a quick drive to nearby Orinda Village or Lafayette. Accommodations consist primarily of luxury vacation rentals with premium amenities like private pools and manicured gardens. A car is essential here, though the neighborhood's sidewalks provide excellent opportunities for peaceful morning strolls among the oaks and eucalyptus.

"Good"
The Pickwick Hotel
"Staff was amazing and it was in a great location! Beds were very comfortable and it looked very well maintained for a one hundred year old hotel."
Holiday Inn Golden Gateway by IHG
"For the price and location I don’t think you can get anything better honestly and buy the parking pass when you buy the room not in person."
The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay
"My stay was good, but my only complaint is that the breakfast was pretty limited. The customary waffle maker was there, and other bread options, but the only meat option was eggs. No bacon, sausage or other items some hotels provide. Other than this, the hotel is very good. They give you free cookies when you check in, so that's nice. They are right next to a high-end restaurant with superb reviews, so that makes it easy for dinner options. I would stay here again. Good location and good prices."
Chancellor Hotel on Union Square
"very coinvent to go to other places. CVS is just beside the hotel. Apple, cookies and drinks are available for guests."

"Second time staying here. Very predictable and nice and clean. Solid place to stay"
