Canal Street Historic District
Canal Street Historic District offers a delightful journey through New Smyrna Beach's past with well-preserved brick buildings and tree-lined streets. Art lovers can wander between galleries like The Hub on Canal and Arts on Douglas, while history buffs will appreciate the New Smyrna Museum of History. The district's colorful 1920s storefronts house unique boutiques and antique shops perfect for treasure hunting. Seafood restaurants and casual cafes occupy historic buildings, with most places open until 9pm. Stay in charming bed & breakfasts with period furnishings for the full historic experience. Though public transit is limited, the compact district is easily explored on foot or via the seasonal downtown trolley to nearby beaches.

North Causeway
North Causeway delivers a slice of coastal paradise where the Intracoastal Waterway sparkles with possibility. Fishing boats bob alongside weathered docks while pelicans dive dramatically for their next meal. The Saturday Farmers Market buzzes with vendors selling fresh citrus and local crafts. Buena Vista Park offers a perfect spot to soak up those water views before heading to waterfront restaurants. Getting around is easiest with your own wheels, though the causeway itself is pleasantly bikeable. Most visitors stay in vacation rentals with water views and boat access. The area strikes a perfect balance between working fishing community and tourist amenities, making it ideal for travelers seeking authentic coastal experiences.

Learn more about New Smyrna Beach
Thirteen miles of white sand beckon surfers and sunbathers alike in this laid-back coastal haven. Flagler Avenue offers eclectic shopping before leading directly to the Atlantic waves. Canal Street Historic District reveals the town's artistic side with galleries tucked into historic buildings. Take an airboat through wildlife-rich mangroves or explore Sugar Mill Ruins for a taste of history. Canaveral National Seashore provides pristine shoreline just south of town. Despite the dubious honor of being the 'shark bite capital of the world,' locals paddle out daily. The Marine Discovery Center offers eco-tours for those preferring to keep their feet dry. After sunset, seafood restaurants serve the day's catch while locals debate which beach access has the best break.

"Clean room, Ocean view, Staff."
New Smyrna MOD Collection by Sonesta
"The room was very nice for family and very clean and easy to get to. The only thing we did not like was the door on the side didn’t know that you have to lift up to lock. It should be easier like the front door would be great. But everything was very accurate to the website. Love that you can just walk out to the beach and just enjoy."

"Friendly staff."
Ocean Eleven Suites
"Incredible experience, the owner goes above and beyond. Beyond my wildest expectations. Feels like a retro 1940’s motel, that has been modernized. Like if the 1950’s, imagined the future. They are like a small apartment, with a back door. It is really really cool. I’m a native Floridian, new symrna is my local beach, and I have lived it for 40 years. This place is a gem, it’s magical"
SpringHill Suites by Marriott New Smyrna Beach
"The hotel needs to be renovated on the outside of the building! Paint is chipping off the balconies and there’s lots of visible rust. In other words, it’s eroding due to the salt. Also the fences are chipping and have been for the past 2 years. Our ocean front room was very nice and spacious! View was amazing!!!"
Black Dolphin Inn
"Selfishly I hate to say too many superlatives of just how nice this place is so it would be hard for us to book in the future. But I have to as its a total gem all the way around. Its our go to place now when we visit up here. Thanks Black Dolphin for a pleasant stay!"
Inn On the Avenue
"From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the host. Lovely unique property that felt like you were staying in someone's home rather than a B&B. Very comfortable room and the highlight of our stay was definitely breakfast. Our kids loved cooking their own pancakes at the table. Property very close to the beach and all the amenities in New Smyrna Beach with the bonus of on site parking. Thank you for such an amazing stay. Would definitely recommend Inn on the Avenue."
