I always stop in Tucumcari if my route takes me past it. It's a Route 66 historic town that has definitely seen better days but I kind of like the mix of abandoned Rt 66 buildings and some of the newer businesses that have begun to pop up.

I've grown to love Tucumcari. The Rt. 66 retro tourism combined with a very slow pace makes it one of my favorite stops to spend a couple of days relaxing.

Route 66 fans rejoice! Part of the old highway is here in Tucumcari. And a dinosaur museum too! Totally fab!

Poor little Tucumcari. Route 66 runs right through it and the interstate loops on the north edge of town and has exits for it, but like so many small towns on route 66 the traffic just doesnt stop which is such a shame. Great time there needs love

Small town. Not a lot of businesses in town. A few fast food places to eat. Our desk clerk recommended a very nice restaurant called Dels for dinner and it was great. Glad she told us about Dels.

Has seen better days but the locals are all very friendly. Fun to think about the old days and what it was like to drive through there.

Tucumcari is on Route 66. Very nostalgic town is what liked. Not your typical town.

To look at it at night, it seemed like a relatively big city with lots of lights, but in fact, the population is only around 5,000 or so. That suprised me, but the receptionist was very knowledgable and friendly, and the hotel was in very good shape.

Tucumcari is a town we stop in a lot, on our long drives across the country. Sometime I would like to stay a few days and explore the area!

We don't stay very long as we are traveling through but the people are very pleasant and helpful.
"Got more than what I paid for. Great price for how clean and comfortable the room was. Enjoyed the indoor pool. Ice machine was close to room. Employees were great!"
