Bourbon flows freely at Hartfield & Co., the first distillery to open in Kentucky since Prohibition ended. The historic downtown square feels like a movie set where locals actually live their daily lives. Horse farms dot the rolling bluegrass landscape, offering tours where thoroughbreds regard visitors with aristocratic indifference. The Cane Ridge Meeting House stands as a testament to frontier religion, its weathered logs holding two centuries of stories. Nearby Lexington beckons with the Kentucky Horse Park, where equine royalty prances for admirers. Garrard City Park provides peaceful respite after days spent touring bourbon distilleries. This small town delivers big Kentucky experiences without the crowds that flock to Louisville or Lexington.
The stay was superb!! Everything about this hotel is top notch!! From the Kentucky/ Bourbon County thoroughbred horse racing themed decor to the perfect location for dining and entertainment. Located in the heart of Paris Kentucky, across from Secretariat Park. The history, the location, the staff were amazing!! I will definitely return and enjoy this beautiful hotel again and again!!
Only have 1 complaint! The wifi is very weak inside of room. Had to connect in the hallway and as soon as you went into the room, it disconnected! Need to look into this problem and correct.
Despite being right off the highway and in the Grand Ole Oort district, the hotel was quiet. The rooms were comfortable, though the bathroom was a bit tight. I liked the layout of the king room where it was more traditional with a hallway that housed the bathroom and then opening up into the sleeping area. Very spacious with a desk and chair, a sitting chair, and a bench.
The young lady who checked me in was super nice. The older lady who checked me out the next day was not nearly as friendly.
The room was great and clean. And, best of all they allowed my large dog to stay with me. Since the floor is not carpeted, the floor was clean for me with no hair from previous guests.
The only negative is the dog poop in the middle grass area. I think this comment is aimed at the people who stayed there and not the people who run the hotel. As a dog owner myself, I know...
The location of the hotel was great. Conveniently located near restaurants and some shopping. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The room was spacious! The pool is “heated” but was still chilly. It would’ve been nice if it was a bit warmer. The hot tub was great!
Just a heads up for future travelers: Expedia still lists this hotel with a free airport shuttle...it was stopped after covid and hasn't restarted since.
I was very pleased with this hotel. The staff was friendly and kind. The breakfast was really good, with hot choices and a good selection.
I stayed here to get shelter from storms passing through, and even though my room was on the side next to the freeway, I did not hear traffic or the rain and thunder. It is very sound-proof.
I was really happy that they didn’t charge a pet fee. This is a good location for being able to walk your dogs around the grassy area next to the hotel, and by the...
