Mexican Hat is the gateway to one of the most beautiful places in the world- Monument Valley. It's so worth the long drive. There is a hotel on the Navajo reservation that looked great-- we might do that next time.

There are alot of unique and beautiful things to do and see around Mexican Hat. We have never been to this part of Utah and we were pleasantly surprised.

Good
It's a small (very small) town in Monument Valley. There's only 2 restaurants and a service station in addition to the two places to stay. The Hat Rock Inn is older but clean, nice and quiet, right on the San Juan River - I highly recommend it.

Crazy that people from all over the world come to Monument Valley to act out Forrest Gump's run up the hill. Lots of magic here.

"We really enjoyed our week here. It is a great location, the diner was super convenient, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it. "
"This was a great place to relax and unwind from exploring Monument Valley. It was just a 20 minute drive. History in area of western films. Updated and improved property. The Views Are Amazing. Just down the road you can get access to the river to have a relaxing float. You have to eat at the Swingin’ Steakhouse. The steaks and burgers cooked to perfection. "
"Beautiful rooms and eating areas including outside patios with views of nearby spectacular rock formations. Also great breakfast and service. Fun eating with the hummingbirds!"
