Hotels in Chiang Khong

Wonderful small resort hotel with impeccably clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful service, and great food and drinks in the on-site restaurant. A lovely and relaxing place to spend a few days. Looking forward to visiting again later this year!

Nice place to stay while taking the slow boat the next day

What a pleasant surprise this place was. My wife, her sister and a cousin and I booked two rooms on the Mekong River side and found it was well worth it for the view alone. We also enjoyed a very nice al fresco dinner at the hotel's restaurant, seated next to the pool. Chiang Khong is a bit of a drive north of Chiang Rai in Chiang Rai Province, quite close to the Golden Triangle borders with Myanmar and Laos. We weren't there for the onsen, which was fortunate because some kind of renovations...

Clean place!

The owner could not have been more accommodating. He picked us up on arrival, drove us to a great local restaurant, and drove us in the morning to the Laos border.

The only down fall was the distance to this place, however it was worth it! My room was perfect, I was my first hot shower! Lol The people working are wonderful and very thoughtful. They helped me book a car for a full day of seeing the temples and flower festival - I had a wonderful time. And the food was AMAZING! It's my favorite stay so far! :)

Our stay at Anantara's Golden Triangle Resort was perfection from start to finish. The property is stunning, set in a huge jungle expanse with elephants roaming (talk about a room with a view)! Our suite was a major wow - the views of course, but the amenities were thoughtful and they provided everything we could have needed + more. Service was fabulous - attentive and gracious without being overbearing, which I find the perfect balance. We had one daily activity included and the activities...

The staff, in particular "Top", were delightful to interact with. There's joy here, and it shows.

It's a newly built hotel, very clean and spacious. The only negative was bad WiFi in my (newer) building. Perhaps the other building has better WiFi. If you are coming by bus or van from Chiang Mai, ask to drop at the traffic light immediately after the National Museum (which is 3 minutes walk from the hotel).
