Simple, economical hotel with a million dollar view. Had everything we needed and was a great chance to get out of the house and enjoy the North Shore.
We had a wonderful stay at Lutsen by the Lake! The property is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with absolutely gorgeous views right by the lake. The scenery is so peaceful and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind, which makes the experience even better. This was our second time staying here, and we’ll definitely be back again! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful lakeside getaway.
Emily was friendly & fantastic! She made sure everything was good. She had a list of great places to hike & see and gave us excellent restaurants & coffee shops to go to.
Room & hotel were clean. The bathtub is very old & had stains but was clean.
Had complimentary warm apple cider when we got there in the evening & coffee in the morning.
They have a wonderful clean sauna & an amazing spa area that was very relaxing!

For what we were paying to stay on the North Shore, we were expecting a quaint room with limited amenities. The deck with lake view was a nice surprise as were the contents of the kitchenette--we were able to cook a trout and pasta dinner using the stove and Weber grill. We stayed three nights and found the location to be great for quick trips to Grand Marais and Lutsen. Our children were not with us but would stay here again with them as the cozy lodge has many amenities in case of inclement...
