The title says it all- this was a lovely hotel, and we enjoyed everything about our stay. The location was perfect, the room was very comfortable, breakfast was lovely, etc. the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, as well. We will certainly return on or next trip to Volterra!
Hotel was great! Very nice restaurant, relaxing pool, awesome views of Tuscan countryside and Volterra. Parking provided at a fee, but very convenient and accessible. Hotel was perfectly located within the historic city walls, walked to all the sites and enjoyed strolling the streets at night and enjoyed many of the great restaurants in Volterra. Definite city and hotel to visit again.
The location was beautiful. Amazing scenic views in every direction with Volterra on the hill in the distance! The villa was perfect for our family of 4. The kids loved to cool off in the pool after a day of sightseeing and the owners were helpful with any questions we had. Truly a perfect Tuscan getaway!

I booked this hotel bc of the breakfast and it did NOT DISSAPOINT! So many local dishes and eggs, and then breakfast dessert with a choice of 4-5 cakes everyday!
It was a little hike from the town not very well marked but could easily drive and find parking (Luka will tell you where's it free/cheap/convenient)

This was a perfect retreat after a hectic week! I wish I had the time to stay longer, hope to return someday :) Great location right off the square. Cute and very clean room. Felt very safe at the hotel and in the city as a whole. The front desk gal was extremely friendly and helpful. If you are out and about late at night, be sure to bring both keys with you!
Villa Porto All'Arco is an old villa that's been converted to a small hotel. Don't come if you're looking for modern amenities. This is more of a trip back in time. You get tall ceilings and original floors from hundreds of years ago. The owners are incredibly nice and helpful. And they serve a great breakfast. Two minor demerits. First, the address didn't show up on our GPS so it was a little difficult to find. Second, it's a five minute walk from the hotel to the main piazza of Volterra. So...
We loved this place! Getting here was a bit tricky, as the map we were given in the welcome email was of bad quality, so it didn't take us to the correct place right away, but we figured it out, very minor. I'm sure you can ask for a better quality map. When we arrived to check in, we were greeted by Lisa, who was oh so very helpful! She showed us where laundry was, asked all questions we had about WIFI and other hotel things, recommended us 3 terrific places to eat dinner on each of our 3...
Everything was wonderful. The room was modern and quiet. The breakfast was the best we have had and the restaurant for dinner was amazing. The staff was helpful and courteous. Loved the pool and the 1.5 km walk into San Gimigano was very doable. Loved our stay!!
