The rental was super clean and neat and well- decorated. Loved the a/c and kitchenette. Great central location in Chartres. Just know you have to check-in at the restaurant. That wasn’t clear in the communication.

This is my third time staying at The Grand Monarque. The location is excellent, bathroom and amenities great, good bed and sheets, friendly staff and lovely restaurant in an atrium. The breakfast is excellent, and I had lunch at the one star restaurant in the hotel which I never realized was there. It was superb!
I think the decor in the halls should be updated. They give the wrong impression of the hotel. Other than that, I love it.

It is my understanding that the hotel itself is managed by a family. Having stated this I can easily convey how great the customer service is. The staff is very friendly and willing to please. All of the staff speak English quite well which was a comfort to me since I have not studied any French in the past. The room itself was spacious for just myself and a double bed.
