When I booked this hotel, we needed a little bit of serenity after a very busy first five days in Lisbon and Porto. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. It is in the middle of nowhere —driving up these tiny roads you think you’re in a residential area and you come upon this castle-like structure. Everybody is friendly, the staff is super attentive, the infinity pool is located overlooking the vineyard. The food is very good! The rooms are absolutely stunning. Carlos was very helpful& gave us great restaurant recommendations& sights to see. The two rooms were great. Spotlessly Clean& we had room 1 ( the best) great new bathroom& beautiful ceilings. Room 2 had beautiful ceilings & much smaller bathroom so if your very tall ( my son 6 feet 7 inches) get bedroom 1 . Great beds & sheets. Breakfast wonderful. Close to historic site and restaurants. Excellent breakfast and the massage was good. Hotel bed, room, and bathroom is a good size. The downside is you’ll need to pay for spa services daily to use the pool. Hot tub is luke warm and the steam room could use eucalyptus or something to give it a spa feeling. Would be nice if pool access didn’t require a spa service. Also cap purchase required if you didn’t bring your own.
