"The Plaza Hotel is a decent place to stay in Almaty. The rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast is good but not amazing but as it’s a buffet I’m sure there’s plenty there to satisfy everyone. It’s not the most central hotel but the area around is safe and the river makes orientating yourself in the city quite easy. Get Yandex Go the ex-Soviet equivalent of Uber and getting around costs next to nothing and is very quick and efficient. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!...

"Centrally located, Renion City Hotel is close to the Green Bazaar, the Panfilov Park & Zenkov Cathedral. It's an ideal base for travellers to explore Almaty. Since the city is so walkable with its lush pedestrian sidewalk, I had tried to walk from the Hotel to the Arbat Walking Street and even the MEGA Park shopping mall. Just a leisurely 30-min walk. Easy! In addition, my room was modern and clean and the buffet breakfast was also nice and varied. Really enjoyed my stay there."
