"Great stay for the money. Nice balcony overlooking the locks. Parking is easy once understood ( free parking on small roadway across the street). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Recommend coming before the café and shop down stairs close."

"Comfy big bed and nice big room. Everything you could want for an overnight stay. Staff were super helpful and friendly and I would say the hotel's biggest asset. The furnishings and decor are a bit tired and dated and really could do with upgrading."

"The room was fantastic, and the staff went above and beyond. I was having difficulty with the second door in our room, and the staff noticed this and came to our room without being asked to orient us. Really friendly and spectacular service."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the first stop of our honeymoon! Very friendly owners and it was nice meeting the other guests and sampling their impression selection whiskey! Can thoroughly recommend the short stroll to the waterfall (upper viewing spot) and the whiskey porridge!"

"Room was clean, bed comfy, nice surprise that the tv was in the bottom of the bed! Shower was a bit dirty round the door with gunk and the door didn’t close properly so ended up mopping a big puddle after use. For the quality and standard of the hotel I thought the shower would have been more upgraded than it was but that was the only thing and just my personal preference. Also our room was situated right above the kitchens we think so at 7am all the air con units fired up right outside our window, which wasn’t ideal. Apart from that it was excellent!!"

"A hotel with lots of character. Excellent free parking across the road. Staff at reception very friendly and personal - spent time explaining and showing us facilities. Dinner in restaurant was first class and reasonably priced. Also enjoyed breakfast. Couple of minor issues with bedroom which were corrected within minutes of them being reported."
