"incredible little place RIGHT ON the beach in Esterillos Oeste. helpful friendly staff, cozy clean rooms and property cats, which was a huge plus for me."
"This is the best hotel of our trip. The beachfront location is unbeatable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant served excellent breakfast and dinner. We stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time here."

AMAZING! This hotel is beautiful... I felt like I was in the Garden of Eden. I loved everything about it. The food, the pool, the pristine rooms with an incredible bathroom and shower. If you are looking for a place to relax and forget the world, this is it.
My husband and I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel, the restaurant, and the entire staff. The building structure is designed with lovely wood and steel. The overall look is downright unique, seems like a piece of art. The rooms were spotless and refreshed daily. The Wi-Fi worked very well. The staff was friendly and accommodating; repeatedly going the extra mile for any request or need we expressed. When the rooms hair dryer stopped working, it was promptly replaced within 10...
Hotel Delfin was located within yards of the beach. The grounds were clean and the ammenities were sufficient for a few day stay. The staff were so friendly and had lots of tips for navidating the area. Eduardo & David were the best! The food (octopus & shrimp dishes) were among the best we sampled in Costa Rica. Playa Bejuco is a hidden gem with soft sandy beaches that are wide and very little travelled. We will be back again! Pura Vida.
We discovered this charming hotel 2 years ago when we visited Costa Rica for the first time and were lucky enough to be able to return. My husband loves to surf and Hotel Dolce Vita is right in front of several nice surf breaks mostly filled with locals which is a good sign! The hotel is managed by a young family and they are always smiling and helpful. Their English is limited but they are more than willing to assist with anything you may need or desire. The hotel is located about 15...
The Backyard is one of those places that you really hesitate to leave a review about because you don’t want everybody to discover your secret spot. After visiting the restaurant over the years we finally decided to stay in the hotel on our last trip and were not disappointed. We have stayed in much fancier places in Costa Rica but prefer the quaint, simple, relaxed quality that the Backyard offers. The staff is fantastic and attentive. The pool is great and the grounds are well kept. The hotel...
We scheduled the hotel to pick us up at airport. It was so nice to get off a long plane ride and see someone holding a card with your name on it. From SJO to Jaco was in a comfortable Mercedes van with cold water and beer waiting for us. Once we got to Club del Mar, it could not have been any better. The food at restaurant was great, drinks at poolside were cool and refreshing. Every person we met was helpful and kind. I don't want to name them because I would be afraid I would leave someone...
From the first interaction with Steven in reception (complimentary glass of wine upon arrival), to their willingness to help. I had a race and was not able to take advantage of their buffet breakfast, however the kitchen was kind enough to prepare me a plate of food that was amazing upon my return back to the hotel. Rooms were spacious and loved the balcony and kitchen option. Kitchen was equipped, but lacked some basic things like towels for hot pans and a strainer for pasta. It had just one...
Wonderful small hotel (9 rooms) owned and managed by fun, warm and welcoming couple. The hotel is perfect for people who are looking for peace and quiet ( guest are in their rooms by 10pm) and most of the guest will be tired and ready to bed after the day activities in the sun, by that time. The ocean is across the un paved road in front of the hotel, and its beaches are long as the eyes can see. No umbrellas or beach’s chairs are provided. Bernard is a great chef and he prepared wonderful...
Great place for relax and detox time.
Eco-friendly lodge with awesome gardens, trails and a waterfall.
Bungalows have a great view to the mountains.
Excellent and healthy food.
Road requieres a 4WD, but it is NOT dangerous, just bumpy.
We loved the hotel. My wife and I were there for 3 nights as part of a combination business trip/vacation. The staff was wonderful, including great recommendations for restaurants. The facilities are very clean and beautiful. The best part of the stay is the beautiful grounds. It is a lush jungle with monkeys and birds, as well as beautiful flowers. The furnishings are pretty basic--older but functional pieces. The beds are very firm. As we were working remotely in the mornings, WiFi was...
The private room was very clean and just big enough to stretch out. The air conditioning was very strong. Nikki, the receptionist on duty during our stay, was a wonderful help to us and devoted some of her own time helping us plan our time in Jaco. The pool is lovely, and the hostel owners make a wonderful Gallo Pinto for breakfast every morning.
