Wonderful stay. Stunning property, fabulous views, food was excellent, boat ride in our the Douro magical. Service could have been better - they were not as attentive as I would have liked to see for a property of this caliber.

We loved our stay! The staff were very friendly and available, we were greeted with refreshments on arrival and personally walked to our rooms. Great amenities including free access to the steam room located in the spa, a great breakfast with options for all, and a welcome gift of port waiting for us in the room. Our room was upgraded - clean and comfortable, double sinks, Returning later at night to the room, we discovered a bottle of champaign with a beautiful pastry with a candle and matches. They noticed that my husband had a birthday that day. The hotel is in the center of the city, next to Sao Bento train station that we used for reaching close-by towns - Braga, Aveiro. We liked everything!
We like this hotel. It's located outside of the super busy and congested areas of old town, but it's still accessible by Metro (the station is across the street) or a cheap BOLT ride. The streets are FLAT! It's a 20 minute walk to old town with interesting architecture and shops along the way.

A great relaxing hotel with all the needed services. The spa is relatively small (not for Europe) and provide very good services professionally delivered. The breakfast is very good and excellent service.
The rooms are very comfortable and beautifully designed, however, be aware of lack of privacy if traveling with friends or family members, the shower is all glass and visible from all angles of the room, the toilet a bit better but not totally private either.
