We were absolutely delighted with Agriturismo Sasso Rosso. First of all, their location, midway between Assisi and Spello on a quiet road is wonderful. The place is actually a small farm and produces olive oil, several varieties of wine and a very good grappa. Claudia is a wonderful hostess, friendly and engaging. The family that owns this place was so helpful. None of them spoke English when I checked in, but we were able to figure it out with another guest who translated I could’ve used Google translate as well. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I had an amazing night sleep. The breakfast was great, and for a one night stay before my bike tour. This was perfect. It was quiet, cozy, and close to the start of my bike trip.

This hotel is fantastic! The balcony view of the Tuscan landscape and the Basilica was incredible. The twin bed was adequate and fit the theme of staying at a former monastery. The staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel has a chapel inside (it was a monastery) and that was an added treat. The main churches were easily accessible. I cannot imagine staying at a more beautiful place in Assisi than this hotel!

Only stayed for one night, but it was an enjoyable stay. As others have noted, you check in at the restaurant and then are directed to the door which leads to the staircase up to the hotel. We arrived before check in time and were just looking to store our luggage before we went up the hills, but as the room was available, the staff allowed us to go right away. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. The rooms have a mini fridge and toiletries (shampoo/ body wash dispensers)...
