Vanathavilluwa Hotels

Tatum Villas Villa is a beautiful new lodge, 5-stars for a reason. The staff are all lovely and extremely eager to please; rooms spacious, gorgeous, and private; and food very good. My only quibble was that rains had flooded the road into the nearby entrance of the Wilpattu park, so doing a safari drive involves a 1.5 hr ride to the eastern park entrance, which kind of defeats the purpose of staying on the quieter western edge. Still a beautiful place to stay, though.

A Perfect Introduction to Sri Lankan Hospitality Our stay at Wilpattu Tree House was nothing short of amazing and served as a perfect introduction to the warm and thoughtful hospitality of Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made sure every detail was taken care of, creating an experience that was both comfortable and memorable. One of our highlights was the safari tour of Wilpattu National Park, which our hosts graciously arranged for us. The driver they connected us with was...

We stayed for two nights and planned a boat excursion on the Puttalam lagoon as well as a safari in Wilpattu National Park. The Sanctuary is located a convenient 14km from the park and a similar distance from the lagoon. The team arranged every single detail of our trip, and it was absolutely wonderful. From the delicious welcome drink, to the exceptionally tasty food, and superb excursions with the most well trained guides we had the holiday of a lifetime. The property itself is probably...

Hotel was amazing and the staff catered to all our needs. The location was remote, beautiful and quiet. Excellent beach.

It started with a bad surprise, for which I would blame Hotels.com as they showed pictures of the Mahoora tents, but booked us in the Big Game tent… a lower standard. Once that issue was cleared, we truely enjoyed our stay… the Mahoora tent is amazing, in a stunning environment. Service is great, candle dinner is amazing… and the safari organization was perfect.

It has only six rooms, but they are well maintained and serviced. Extremely friendly staff. Great for a leisure stay, quiet and great Sri Lankan food (I understand western food is an option). Flexible menu if you give enough time for them to fetch crabs. I am considering another stay. This time I rented only two rooms, but more in the future. Excellent for a family outing. Well worth the money spent. Although the nearby beaches are not, the beach front of this property is well maintained.

This was one of the nicest hotels. The rooms were spacious and the bed was nice. Staff went out of their way to help too

We loved this accommodation. It was the best of all the places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is unique, new and spotless clean. The staff were amazing and very helpful with anything we required, and the location was perfect. If you want to experience holidaying in a village, then this is the place. Tourism is minimal here, so you get to see the real thing. We hired a couple of scooters, as the area was quite safe to ride, with very few vehicles on the roads. It was nice to roam...

My experience at De Silva was excellent from start to finish, largely because of the people who run it so thoughtfully. Before arriving, Andrea was consistently quick to respond to emails, answering questions clearly and thoroughly. Once at the resort, the same professionalism and warmth carried through across every area. I didn’t get everyone’s names and all the staff deserve credit for being welcoming and attentive; from the accommodation (Nalika and Nirosha) to dining - Naveen took extra...

Leopard Trails is a fabulous rustic luxury camp in the beautiful Wilpattu Park. This was one of our favorite stays in all of Sri Lanka! The Naturalist guide who took us on safari was attentive, knowledgable, and a genuinely great guy. Back at camp, the rooms were comfortable and the private dining candle lit dinners were magically romantic. I recommend the suite with the plunge pool, it was bliss after a hot and dusty drive on safari. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this special place!

Lovely Staff. Great place

The first nights dinner was horrible cos we ordered the wrong stuff & lunch & breafsdt sandwiches were not so good. So the next day for breakfast we ordered Sri Lankan milk rice, string hoppers & Pol Rotti., chicken & fish curry, potato & dhal curry. It was absolutely super, excellent. The fruit was so good. It was to die for. The papaya especially.
