For the price point & location, this property is great despite small rooms & showers.

I'm a regular at Pod 39 when I come to NYC by myself. It's very minimalist and if I was planning to spend more time in my room, I'd go elsewhere, but exactly what I need when I'm in the city to see shows and check out some exhibitions. Always clean and my room is always ready when I arrive (which has not been my experience at other NYC hotels).

Water filling station in hallway was a first.

I usually find myself not entirely comfortable in hotels. This was far from true at Citizen M Bowery! The attention to details in the rooms was inspired and thoughtful. I specifically found the shower to be comfortable, great pressure, never running out of hot water, and easy to maneuver in. The whole room was like that. You feel comfortable. Great customer service by the team at the front desk, very friendly and helpful. Definitely I will come back but if you planning to dine at the hotel the restaurant is HIGHLY overpriced and drinks are awful. Better to go out and enjoy the city and eat & drink better food.

This was an amazing place to stay. EVERYONE is friendly. The room is clean. The bed is huge and comfortable. The air gets so cold. The rooftop bar has BEAUTIFUL views of the city. The location is perfect. You're so close to EVERYTHING! The staff is knowledgeable and happy to help. The atmosphere is so chill. The only thing I didn't like was the parking situation, but understand it's NYC and parking isn't always convenient.

So happy we stayed here. Location is great and the hotel has everything you need. If you are visiting NY, and interested in what happens outside of your room in the city, instead of the superficial amenities or the plastic luxury of cookie-cutter hotels, the St. James is perfect. Clean, wonderful staff, unbeatable location, and at a price that makes sense. Great place!
