"It is a very good place given the context of the surroundings, where one cannot find many nice places for this kind of price level. The hosts are very kind, the place is clean and food is good👌. Austere but good, with AC and the things one needs, also with a nice garden and close distance to the city center."

"Room Subhas hotel gave us didn't have phone (internal use to call reception) and fridge. We had to keep food outside, so many ants 🐜 came and other tiny insects on table. Had to throw all food. Staff very helpful. Generally very good location to go Super Markets, Jaffna New Market , Bus stand , Railway station. If they improve cleanliness it's better."

"We are a family of six stayed in 2 rooms for 3 nights in July 2026. This is an excellent hotel to stay in Jaffna, and we will definitely stay here without hesitation in our next Jaffna visit. Location is safe, convenient and very close Jaffna town. The property is immaculate and well-maintained. Staff are extremely courteous, extremely helpful and professional. The assistant manager and the receptionist, Dilakshi, are very caring and always attentive. Rooms are of good size and clean. Amenities in the rooms are adequate, but could be improved (dispensers are cumbersome). The most remarkable experience we enjoyed on a daily basis was the breakfast and dinner buffet. Food was absolutely delicious, very much authentic and was the best we had during our 3 week visit to Sri Lanka. Selection of dishes were amazing and reflected the true flavours of Jaffna. The head chef, Gillion is excellent, professional, courteous and extremely caring and accommodative, so as other chefs, Vijayan, Kajayanthan and Yuvaruban. All of them made our stay and experience delightful during our Jaffna visit. We are happy that we chose to stay in The Thinnai for our Jaffna trip."
