The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. The hotel is in central location and sightseeing including the Domberg with its cathedral and stunning Diocesan museum is within short walking distance . The city is very beautiful. Dining in the hotel was very good. Parking is easy in a hotel parking garage. The hotel has a wonderful Bavarian character. It is a wonderful place to stay
While I do quite a bit of business travel, this stay was during the vacation, when I visited my son at TUM in Garching. My schedule was pretty loose, but at any time of day and night I've seen plenty of jetlagged travelers, catching up on work at the very comfortable lounge or enjoying a drink or two at the bar. Everything you need was right there: 24x7 shop with snacks and drinks, laundry, gym and meeting rooms, excellent coffee in the morning and refreshing weissbier at the end of the day,...
Very friendly staff / owners. Great hot tub and spa area. Very good breakfast. Appreciated that they spoke very fluent English and always there to help when needed. Nice rooms and great breakfast. Definitely going to make this a place to stop at next time we are in the area.
This is the second time I have stayed here. It is a nice old fashioned German hotel with a very good restaurant. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Only downside is the breakfast lady who is obviously not happy with her job. When eggs and bacon ran out she complained, in so many words, that people were eating too much.
Very niche Gasthaus in bavarian country style, less than 10 km away from the exhibition center. I have appreciated the atmosphere and the exquisite courtesy of the personnel. Clean and cosy room. Very good value for the price. Even the minibar prices are good, with a good choice of beverages of any kind.
The restaurant is good, although the cuisine is not typically bavarian, and prices are reasonable.
Surely to keep in mind for any next journey to Munich.

We stayed with our adult children at the Hotel Obermaier during Octoberfest. It was all that we had hoped for. It is a traditional hotel with a good restaurant attached. It is convenient by Metro to downtown Munich. It is much more reasonably priced than closer-in hotels. Our room and bathroom were comfortable. The breakfast was unbelievably generous and delicious. We will definitely stay at the Hotel Obermaier if we are fortunate enough to return to Munich, particularly during Octoberfest.
I am a solo traveler and I only stayed one night on a layover but the hotel was clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast in the morning. I would absolutely stay here again.
