"Mapakada Village is a beautiful hotel, tucked away from the regular tourist route - but it’s well worth heading here. It’s set against a stunning lake, where you can do various activities and wildlife spotting. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I’d especially recommend the superior double, which looks out to the lake and the pool. We actually stayed at Mapakada Village a little by accident, during a storm - and we were so looked after, especially by Dinesh. He went above and beyond to help get us back to Negombo in time for our flight, actually driving us several hours himself, which was incredibly kind. Staying here for a couple of nights was exactly what we needed. Thanks so much!"

"Amazing hotel! Located off the beaten track this was a great experience for the family. The pool is excellent, food good quality and the tours were well organised with small numbers. This is not a touristy area so a more exclusive feel that other locations in Sri Lanka."

"Surrounded by beautiful rice fields, wilderness and Peacocks this is an ideal place for who seeks a secure place for rest and respite. The hotel staff was amazingly nice and ready help. Those who travel from East like Trincomalee or Arugambay this would be an ideal rest stop. My meals by a la carte were delicious.
