We only had two nights at Rio Perdido but they were amazing. From the moment we walked in and were welcomed with the most delicious passion fruit welcome drink till the moment we checked out with the friendly folk at reception, we felt warmly received and graciously cared for. Steven greeted us as we entered - he was very attentive and warm as he told us about the hotel and its various offerings.
The hotel itself is gorgeous - the spacious round lobby/restaurant has nearly 360 degree open-air...

If you are looking to decompress, enjoy the natural beauty of a massive estate, and breath clean air - this place is the best!!! Jorge, the owner is a veteran of the tourism industry and is extremely knowledgeable about geography, history, pretty much everything Tico. The property has a few pools, a hiking trail, a water slide, horseback riding, zip lining, a jacuzzi, and more. Bring a yoga mat and a bathing suit.

Budget stay away from town. Lovely little hotel with hammocks on the porches. Probably not the place for snobby folks since the amenities are pretty basic, but then that's what makes these types of places special. Amazing night sky.

It is a lovely family hotel. the owner/ front lady is really kind and such a nice person. He doesn't speak a lot of English , but still showed the kindness. They used the same wood for door, mirror, bedding, table, it is really unique. The location is perfect, almost at the center road but it's off the center road a bit, which makes it more quiet, but not far from restaurants, super market and bakery.

We had a wonderful stay at Aquapaca B&B with our three children at the end of July! We stayed for three nights and found the bungalow clean and well-appointed. The beds were comfortable, and the fresh flowers were a lovely touch. Breakfast was homemade and delicious!
The B&B is close to town (10–15 minutes) with many hikes and tours within 40 minutes. We loved listening to the birds and frogs from the wrap-around porch and hammock, and enjoyed breakfast on the porch each morning. The property...

This place was really perfect for me and my son. The location is on the mountain but not far off the road so you get peace and also some wildlife sounds. Everything was so clean and comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking supplies which was a relief after having to eat out so often. I would definitely stay here again

The setting is breathtaking, with the volcanoes and rain forests surrounding you and gorgeous wildlife throughout. The hosts Ana and Pablo are incredible warm caring people who have unmatched hospitality. The tour of the chocolate plantation is a must - samples were delicious. Eat the food they prepare; it is fresh, tasty, and they can accommodate vegetarians. Most guests had rented a car because getting there requires some smaller gravel roads through tiny towns. Casita Tenorio is in a section of Costa Rica that feels like the old Costa Rica use to be. The people are friendly and it’s not over developed. We had a family of 5 howler monkeys greet us in the trees next to our casita. It was wonderful. Casita Tenorio is a nice quiet place to unwind and enjoy nature. I highly recommend this property.

This was such a great place to stay! The views were awesome, it was very quiet and peaceful, and it was very unique to stay in a dome. We saw so many hummingbirds and butterflies. The caretakers were the most helpful, friendly, generous people. They went out of their way to help us with anything we needed and they also had a cute friendly dog that greeted us. Just a few minutes away there were a couple restaurants to eat at and it was a 5 minute car ride to Rio Celeste. Highly recommend this...

We had a fantastic time! Orlando (the owner), his family, and all of the staff were so kind and welcoming! We really enjoyed the thermal longevity circuit, plus we went tubing down the river which was a blast too! On day 2 we did the cultural coffee, chocolate, tortilla demonstration and we also went on a short hike through the trail where Orlando helped us spot a sloth! We had the pizza at the resort the first night, so then we wanted to try out some authentic Costa Rican and he was able to...

This was a gem of a find. Joel the owner was on top of every detail of your stay. The meals prepared were exquisite. Family style tables that allowed you to meet other travelers and exchange past places visited and or give ideas of where to go next. Birds eye view of the beautiful garden where you could watch birds for hours. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This hotel and adjacent national park was the highlight of our 12 day trip through CR.
GROUNDS: The hotel is magnificent, with individual bungalows surrounding the central lobby/restaurant and pool. The tropical landscaping is gorgeous and dense enough to isolate each of the bungalows, affording privacy, even when sitting in the covered front porch. The ¾ kilometer trail down to the Rio Celeste on their property provides a great 15-20 minute hike to the river’s edge, where you may choose to...
