"A charming and well run Riad on the outskirts of the Medina. The room was comfortable with incredible views. The location was very convenient for exploring the Medina and the staff were lovely and welcoming. The food served in their restaurant was delicious and they have the best harira soup in town! I would definitely recommend this Riad and would stay here again."

"This was hands down one of the best experiences we have ever had while staying abroad. Beginning prior to our arrival in Morocco we had received communication from the Riad with tips and instructions specific to the wonderful city of Fes. Communication through WhatsApp was extremely easy, and very fast! We were welcomed to the Riad with hot Moroccan mint tea, and cookies. The owner greeted us and excited explained the art and craftsmanship that went into the Riad. We received a full tour and explanation on the cultural aspects of a riad. They booked a guide for the next morning on the spot, who was fabulous. Breakfast was served each morning, you could tell it was all homemade, with love and care. It was by far one of the best breakfasts we have ever had, they were even able to accommodate an allergy my wife has. We felt like family from the minute we walked in until the moment we checked out. Please stop looking for a place to stay and decide to make Riad Mazar your home too."

"Our original rating for this Fes Riad was a solid 5-Star: upon arriving we were warmly greeted. The check-in process was impressive, individual & professional. Moroccan tea & biscuits were consumed & then we were ushered to our gorgeous room: for dinner we went upstairs & enjoyed a terrific Moroccan meal. All good so far. You might be asking why did we then downgrade our rating from a solid 5-Stars to a 4? Please read on. Here is a couple of good reasons: no matter how hard we tried we couldn’t get the TV to work properly in the first night: we called the fella up 3 times. Finally & mysteriously it worked. Then no towels were placed in our bathroom to replace those taken away: we had to follow this up twice: the manager, out of frustration brought up the cleaning lady to our room as she was mystified as we were. Another incident: no toiletries replaced: tried 3 times & gave up. The next day we specifically asked for them. Another incident: we saw the manager in person the day before we needed to leave at 8.30am for a tour: she promised that if we could be seated at 8am for breakfast they would have it ready: we came at 7.50am & waited: nothing until 8.20am: we gathered what we could take with us & left unhappy. Big on promises, but failed in the delivery. Overall, we loved our room & our location but regrettably we also must say the service needs improvement as a genuine 5-star accommodation. Is it worth the money: Yes. Would we stay again: split vote: GreyNomads"

"We had a really nice stay at Riad Taryana. The location was very convenient and close to most of our meeting points, which made getting around the Medina much easier. The owners were very kind and welcoming. They would often come and chat with us while we were having breakfast, which made the stay feel very personal and friendly. Breakfast was also great — if we let them know what time we planned to come down, they would usually have it ready for us before we even arrived. The owner was also kind enough to upgrade our room for free since there was availability, which we really appreciated. The room had hot water and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One thing to keep in mind is that there are quite a few stairs and some of them are steep, so it may be something to consider if you have difficulty with stairs. The riad is located right in the old Medina, but we personally felt safe during our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and especially appreciated how kind and welcoming the owners were. A great option if you want to stay right in the Medina and be close to everything."
