Property is clean and staff is very friendly. If you get hungry there is a cafe within the hotel. For the price you pay it’s not too bad. It is like a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Oaxaca. But at night there was quite a bit of noise from the guest at the cafe which made it hard to fall asleep.
Our stay was perfect. The staff was extremely responsive, the rooms very comfortable and we were within walking distance of the Zocalo. We often walked back to Marialicia Suites at nighttime and never felt unsafe despite it being away from the action. In fact, we preferred this as there was never any street traffic that we could hear from our room. Our family was obsessed with the large property thanks to its perfect layout for family gatherings, breakfasts around the enormous dining table, and relaxing evenings on the rooftop. The neighborhood wasn't the sexiest but the house was a short 10 minute taxi ride to central Oaxaca. The hosts were amazing and easy to communicate with which made our family vacation relatively stress free.
The hotel is very functional, simple and minimalist. Everything worked fine, parking was very safe and efficient. The same goes for the rooms, no luxury just a clean room and comfortable bed. I would stay here again.
