This place is in a great location. Few steps and you’re in the heart of Basel. Saturdays in the park across the street is a market where you can find amazing antiques and other great finds. Staff are friendly and even loaned me a plugin adapter as mine for some reason didn’t work here. You’ll also get a pass to take the trams for free around the city! We stayed at the Steinenschanze Stadthotel the day before we took a Rhine river cruise. The receptionist gave us good instructions on how to use the free transit pass to get back to the hotel after we returned our rental car at the airport, which saved us a taxi fare. The receptionist also recommended a good Swiss restaurant within a 10 minutes walk for dinner, and gave us good directions on using the free transit pass to visit the Basel zoo. The most efficient use of space ever in a hotel room. U.S. hotels should learn from these guys. Best bathtub...narrow and deep, perfect for soaking after a hard day of travel. Very pleasant hotel, quiet room. Close to convenience, food and liquor stores. Ample underground parking.

This is a surprisingly nice hotel in a great location. We travelled with another couple and their room was the standard size for European accommodations. However, our room on the top floor was larger with a very cool sky light window. Nevertheless, both rooms were very clean and modern. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is the fourth time I have stayed here, and the hotel continues to provide excellent service. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and my single room was very comfortable. There are lots of nice touches, like free water bottles in the room and fresh fruit at the reception. The breakfast is very nice. The only problem is that I couldn't open the window. There is a beautiful hiking trail right by the hotel. Good souvenir stores right next to hotel. My daughter had her birthday while we were there and the staff ordered her a Black Forest birthday cake and decorated the table for her. I was very impressed with their service to help make this a memorable day for my daughter.

It was a nice hotel, good rooms, good service. It took ~15mins to walk to it with a suitcase from the train station and was close enough to walk to most of the tourist sights. A good choice for the price point.

Sehr zentrales Hotel direkt im Bshnhof, das nach der Übernahme von Intercity Hotel derzeit noch einige Sanierungsarbeiten im Aufzug und dem Frühstücksraum durchführt. Ich hätte ohne Zögern fünf Sterne vergeben. Das Hotel ist wirklich sehr schön – bis auf die Kissen. Sie fühlen sich an, als wären Kissenbezüge mit Putzlappen gefüllt. Schade, denn mit vernünftigen Kissen wäre alles perfekt gewesen.

The hotel is immediately located beyond the train station, and is central to shops and restaurants. From my room, I experienced beautiful views of the mountains and enjoyed natural light within the well maintained and nicely decorated room. Staff were incredibly kind and the restaurant served tasteful meals each night of my stay.
