Mark and Lyndsay were excellent hosts. This was my favorite stay in England. The pub is situated in a small community and you could definitely feel that vibe. A local gentleman told us to wake up with the sunrise and it was well worth seeing it come up over the valley with the birds heading out for their day. The food was absolutely delicious (we had the pizza and breakfast the next morning.) I can’t recommend this place enough.

This B&B excelled in every way. As grandparents traveling with a twelve-year old, we praise Sue and staff in making us feel beyond welcome. The pool and the outdoor heated tub absorbed much of our granddaughter's excess energy, as did playing with the resident Rottweiler Axel. The grounds are lovely-lots of holly and ivy- and the rooms, immaculate and full of charm. The traditional Yorkshire breakfast is a plus for hardy appetites.

The host, Chris, greeted us and gave us grneral information about the place. The roomwas spacious, recently renovated. Chris said there are plans to renovate the rooms on the first floor and then serve food in the pub on the first floor. Those with mobility challenges might find it hard to climb up and down the narrow staircase. The windows open, which is nice for fresh air, but we had to prop it open to keep the sash up. There was karaoke in the bar, which some might enjoy hearing, others...

It is impossible to overstate the standard of the Wensleydale Heifer. The awards affirm the restaurant quality and the standard of accommodation. What they do not evidence is the attention to detail that every member of staff personifies. This is the first opportunity we have had to stay at the Heifer, although we have eaten here before. The hotel was everything we hoped for and will become our "go to" place in the Dales. Thank you for a memorable stay!
