Had a great stay at the Hare and the Hound. Great patio next to the restaurant to gather after a fun day and breakfast was really well put together. Room was cozy and comfy and the staff left a nice little surprise in the room.
Perfect location in Abingdon and just minutes walk to buses to Oxford if that's your interest. Took about 25-30 minutes to get into downtown Oxford on the 2 or 3 buses...very easy. The inn had a recent renovation and while it is clearly a very old property it was very charming, clean, and nicely decorated. Food was good and free breakfast had good offerings. We were there during the World Cup and they opened a separate bar/event space to fit both locals and guests in to watch the games which...
We stayed here for 8 days and are very positive about our experience. For the UK (we are Brits visiting from the US) the room size and amenities were significantly above average for the price, the food from the restaurant Cerise was never less than excellent and the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming and whenever there was a small problem they went out of there way to make sure things were resolved. Location is a big plus, the hotel being in a quiet location but only 2 - 3 minutes walk from...

There’s a restaurant, a bar, a beer garden, and honestly, we didn’t see it all. There is a whole farm and pigs and walking paths that I hope we get back to see another time.
The food was well prepared, all organic and scratch made. More interestingly, they’re self reliant on their own...
The room was clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The manager Anna, was particularly professional and kind during a family emergency which was very much appreciated.
