It was an amazing experience. The room was comfortable and clean, with a lovely view of a horse pasture. The inn and pub were great for breakfast and afternoon drinks. Everyone was very friendly!
We had a pleasant stay! It was very hot when we arrived. The first room we were given did not have working air conditioning. However, we spoke with Josh at the front desk, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a room with working air conditioning. Josh is a valuable employee and deserves a raise in how well he goes above and beyond for the customers.
One main point, all the rooms are advertised having working air conditioning. I would recommend to management you address the cooling...
Breakfast buffet is quite limited but adequate. Toast, jam, assorted fruits, sausage, bacon, eggs, beans and hash browns. Scrambled eggs would have been better.
Room was quite large but old. Peeling paint on the baseboard, old granny wallpaper and a bathroom from 1980. The toilet won't flush without a lot of extra effort.
Air conditioner would have been appreciated. It was 81 degrees (27) and stifling in the room. This hotel needs updating desperately.

We booked this hotel because we needed air con and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived to when we left, it was everything we had been looking for. The staff was great and were able to accommodate us with an early check in. They even have little goodie bags for the dogs, which included a ball. There's a great wooded area across the street from the hotel that's nice and shaded, which the dogs appreciated during the heatwave. This hotel was fantastic and exceeded our expectations....
We liked everything about the hotel. The room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The only disappointment was the fact that we would’ve loved to have had high tea, and try to book a reservation in the morning for the same day and were told that we needed to give 40 hours notice. I didn’t see that posted anywhere. If you have it posted it’s in very little print. You might want to revisit that. If it was on your website, I didn’t see it which could’ve been my fault. Otherwise it was a lovely...
We decided very last minute to stay in the Cotswalds overnight. I wanted to experience a staying a traditional inn. The Horse and Groom was perfect! We couldn't have asked for anything better. The guestroom was beautiful, clean and comfortable. We booked just an hour before we arrived, but they were gracious to accommodate us. The Inn is picturesque, the breakfast was amazing even though we were there on Monday when they do t offer their full breakfast menu. The service was the best we have ever...
The folks checking us in Angie was exemplary example. Our TV did not work and she gave us an upgrade to Exec room with awesome TV and all channels. Later organized an amazing spaghetti dinner for us (on demand made to order just for us as vegetarians!!!!) . The lady serving us in the dinner room was most friendly and took great care of us. The chef is really awesome !!!!! and the English breakfast was delicious with home made veg sausages for us!!!!!
The best part of our stay was the food in the restaurant. It was exceptional. The worst part was the 38 steps up to our top floor room and the quarter mile walk to the car park. The bed was comfortable, the Nespresso coffee maker was nice and the shower was just OK, having only a rain head and no wand. The bar is great for what’s on the bar menu but lame for US cocktails. For instance, the bartender didn’t know what either a manhattan or Rob Roy was.
Comfy clean rooms though stairs are narrow as with older buildings. Room bathroom design excellent . WiFi can be spotty outside public areas. Excellent breakfast with more than the usual options. Parking tight in the courtyard but spaces wider outside but you have to mount the keen. Great location
