Chateau hotel Zbiroh

10/10 Excellent

"Staying at Chateau Zbiroh was a wonderful and unique experience! Even the standard room was quite spacious, so there was no feeling of being cramped. Staying in a real castle is a special experience in itself, and the peaceful, quiet atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. I highly recommend joining the castle tour, as it gives you a much better understanding of the hotel’s fascinating history and makes your stay even more meaningful. The restaurant was another highlight of our stay. The food was delicious and definitely worth trying! Overall, it was a memorable experience, and I would highly recommend Chateau Zbiroh to anyone looking for something different from a typical hotel stay."

"The room was spacious. There are just shelves to store your belongings, no dressers or drawers. The property had a nice fitness center that was 24/7. There are no washer/ dryer facilities for guest use. I had a delicious meal that was affordable at the hotel restaurant. The location was close to the Cathedral Square with lots of shopping and restaurants. The tram system in Pilsen is very efficient. My only concern was that a friend who was in a wheelchair in a room nearby found bed bugs. The staff assigned her a new room but did not help her with the move. Check your mattress when you arrive."

"We had a lovely stay at U Prejzku. The apartment is charming, with large bedrooms and unique vintage decor, including old sewing machines and weighing scales, which really adds character. The property was very warm, making clothes dry easily, and the garden is fantastic for kids— I imagine it's absolutely stunning in summer with pool access. Cleanliness was generally good, though the washing machine and shower had black stains that wouldn’t wipe off, and the kitchen door frame seal was loose and swinging. The sofa is worn and uncomfortable, and the toaster could do with replacing. The TV is Czech language only; a smart TV with apps like YouTube or Netflix would be a great addition for international guests. Supplies such as washing-up liquid, cloths, and toilet paper were provided, which was appreciated, and parking was available for our hire. The property felt safe, with both the main and apartment doors locked, and keys provided to residents. Location is excellent—about 45 minutes to central Prague, very easy to visit Prague Zoo, and local trains run every 30 minutes if needed. Staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, gave us a tour on arrival, and were very responsive via the app whenever we had questions or needed confirmation. Overall, a lovely apartment with character, great rooms, brilliant outdoor space, and friendly service, though some amenities could use updating."
