The Packhorse Inn was a very pleasant inn to stay at for my business trip! The room itself was well air conditioned and the amenities were very comfortable. Any extras needed such as ironing board, etc were readily available from the staff. Had breakfast and supper multiple evenings of my trip and always enjoyed them throughly. Loved this place. Gorgeous little pub with large rooms in separate annex. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating, rooms were beautiful, clean and cosy and food (we had dinner and breakfast) was delicious. Highly recommend for anyone staying in or around Newmarket area.
Awesome stay. Cool little room with everything you could want, nice and quiet (on a Wednesday night). Car park was full when I arrived but there is free evening parking nearby so there was no issue. Walkable to shops and pubs/restaurants. Will be back. Oh, also staff was excellent and they had liquid dnb playing in the lobby in the evening. Loved it.
I have stayed before, both times in room 4. It's perfect for a solo traveler like myself. The quirk of this room is that it has a private bath, but it's across they hall, and keyed as the room is. I don't mind--I like quirks. Some might.
The breakfast is lovely. Buffet style, though the server brings along tea or coffee, whatever you wish.
It's also in a lovely location, right along the river. A view of the narrowboats. :D

Very comfortable, clean, updated B&B in a beautiful small village just a few miles from Cambridge. Very welcoming owner and great made-to-order breakfasts. Definitely recommend.

We only had a one night stay while we took in a show in Ely. The staff were really happy and helpful. A small boutique establishment but steeped in history. Although there was maintenance work going on it didn't detract from a lovely experience, the whole building was still immaculately clean. We had a big party staying here for a family wedding nearby. I don’t usually do these reviews but the Elveden was just outstanding. The place is lovely with nice rooms and a great lounge, bar and restaurant, but it was the staff who made this special. Friendly, competent and endlessly helpful dealing with our group, including arranging two large dinners at short notice. Strongly recommended!
