"Pros Clean room Easy location off of I89 Wifi good Cons Breakfast - bacon wasn't thoroughly cooked and luke warm at best. I resorted to having a yogurt and then bought oatmeal at a grocery store and ate in my room the rest of the stay Bed - Mattress could use replacing Check in was slow (over 15 minutes) and I asked for a room on the second floor - they said yes but then gave me a room that was a 200 number but was on the ground floor i.e. street level and said that is the second floor. As a single female staying on ground level in front of the parking lot didn't seem safe. Thankfully another guest behind me that hadn't checked in yet was willing to switch with me. Description on hotels.com said there was a tea maker which to me means a water boiler that actually makes a fair amount of hot water that I could use the stainless steel mug I brought and not a kuerig coffee machine that would barely heat up 6oz of water. But I guess my misunderstanding. 24 hour gas station right in front of hotel - trucks coming and going all night so fairly loud. Overall not a place I would highly recommend. "

"Nice older property. We stayed in one of the upstairs log cabin rooms (nice) and one of the older motel style rooms elsewhere on the property. I don't recommend the older motel style rooms - small and packed with furniture and the HVAC seemed to be oversized (in the summer the HVAC wasn't drying the room so it felt cool, but moist). The upstairs log cabin rooms I would recommend - however, not the rooms near the office (room 10, 11, 12). Why you ask? Well the stairs to climb are over the break chair and table for the lady who runs the office. To say she is a chain smoker is being kind to chain smokers... she is constantly in this chair and as you climb the stairs all you smell is her second hand smoke. Not a pleasant experience to enjoy your stay at the Nootka Lodge."

"We were greeted and efficiently given the details for our stay. Nice features like 7/24 coffee/tee, guest refrig, great breakfast choices, etc. etc. Everything was wonderful. The Inn was not busy and their nearby restaurant was closed, so the level of activity (i,e. noise and activity) made what was not the most soundproof of walls and ceilings even more accommodating for a restful stay. Enjoyed everything and would definitely stay again and again. Guest book in our room had confirming entries of many enjoyable stays."

"Great spot, with parking in back, in the middle of everything in Montpelier. The shower head is clogged, I expect from minerals from hard water. That was room 417. Which is a great room with a lovely view of the mountains, river and a live train track."

"Owners of property are very helpful and welcoming. Beautiful home, beautiful rooms, remote location, beautiful view of surrounding mountains! Excellent breakfast home-cooked , under home maintenance projects while there, would recommend small coffee pot and fridge in room for convenience purposes."

"From our first contact, Brandon, the owner, was most helpful in arranging our stay. Our room was well furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfasts were varied, customized to our tastes, and high quality. Brandon’s tips on what to see and do were tailored to our interests. After expressing our interest to visit a local museum that was closed, Brandon called the owner and arranged for the caretaker to let us in and give us an introduction to the history All the spaces in the Inn and surrounding garden were comfortable and offered a variety of things to do"
