Staybridge Suites Rochester - Mayo Clinic Area by IHG

8/10 Good

"The good: Staff was really nice and kind. Rooms were spotless, and hotel seems brand new. Rooms were really well equipped, kitchen had everything, lots of storage place and nice spacious bathrooms. Hotel had comolimentary breakfast with hot dishes (eggs, bacon, mini waffles). It seemed like a great place to spend longer time. It was also nice not to be near Mayo clinic as there is ton of construction around, so this area was more peaceful, yet still very close. Neighbourhood seemed really nice, private homes around. The bad: Rooms seemed bright and sunny on the pictures, ours was on the second floor with giant window AC unit taking all the window space and the room was really small, cramped (you have to walk around furniture) and dark. Now, it was OK, but it felt like false advertising - for our room. Arriving late and having to search for parking was not ideal, but we got lucky with parking a street over. But the hardest part for me was that windows don't open. At all. This bothered me a lot, as the room air felt very stale. The hallway had food smells on occasion, so keeping the front door open was not a solution. If they have rooms with windows that open, I would definetly stay here again."
