The room on the 5th floor was clean and comfortable. The heating/cooling system was not working in the room and there was a portable dehumidifier with a fan that moved the air around. It was pretty warm but tolerable.
The next night it was cooler outside and our room was more comfortable.
Starting with the front desk staff it was a wonderful stay. We only stayed one night but the room was an upgrade due to some switches and it was beautiful. The old woman at the desk that night was so kind and welcoming that we made friends immediately and I would go back to that hotel anytime I was in town!
Recently renovated, every aspect of the property and design choices are exceptional. The dinner menu creations were inventive and delicious.
However, our room No. 36 was without WiFi. (“Hotel WiFi not connected to internet.”) And you cannot adjust the room temperature using the thermostat.
A+ regardless.
We booked this hotel for a two night stay - pre cruise. We are still in awe of our stay here at The White Star Tavern Hotel. Came in on a cruise ship. At 9:30 am we arrived by cab, not knowing if we would have to wait until 2:00 check in. They actually checked us in upon arrival and we were able to relax and not worry about dragging our luggage around. I would have given an excellent rating except for the carpeting that was quite stained in our room. The bar/restaurant was great with good food and beer. Saved us from going out.
Quiet, convenient location. Staff was excellent…check-in was super easy and provided information for next day transportation to cruise ship. Restaurant staff was very friendly and the food was delicious.
The staff were amazing, helpful and very wonderful. My wife and I really enjoyed our time there. The room was great but the bed mattress is a bit old. We would definitely return.

Owner was incredibly helpful on everything accommodating us in the best way possible it was a joy to stay there incredibly accessible and very reasonably price. One of the best ones. We stayed yet book this place you won’t regret.
