We visited friends nearby and were very pleased to find this beautiful Schloss-Hotel for us to stay in - which was away from the vacation apartment they were staying in! Even though we stayed in a newer adjoining wing of the hotel we were able to enjoy the beauty of the restored Schloss. The grounds and hotel itself were impeccable. The hotel offers two restaurants - one a la carte and the other a buffet. The a la carte was located in the restored part of the Schloss and boasted vaulted...

So happy to have discovered this interesting and beautiful hotel! We chose it because the price was good and we suddenly needed to stop as we were traveling in the area. Ots more than we expected - really an historic renovated very cool place. The owner has given great detail to everything. Gorgeous artifax, furniture, attention to tiny details, including freshly baked sourdough bread at the excellent breakfast (we bought some to take with us, the crust was so good). The hotel was located conveniently for access into Mûritz National Park, especially by bicycle. The restaurant at the hotel had an excellent dinner. I was surprised when they did not give me the two story room, with the balcony, that I reserved and paid for. They also asked me to pay for my room a second time. They gave me a less roomy one story room, with no refund for the difference. I don’t know if these problems were caused by Expedia or the hotel, but it was a little unsettling.

Great hotel in a great location. I only rated the staff as a 3 since they did not speak much english which made communication difficult. Room was very nice with a large bedroom and a separate living/dining/kitchen. The bathroom was very clean and included an enclosed shower. Nice view out of the front of the hotel to the lake. Easy walking distance to the city center. Free parking, free internet which worked very well. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel and the location.

My 5 day stay was ideal for what I needed. Peace, Quiet, and close to nature. I started each morning with a jog down the lake before breakfast. The restaurant was the best food I ate in Europe. The converted early 1900's barn was a touch of old Germany that really added to my trip, which up until this point I had been staying at typical American style hotels. If you are looking for a getaway for serenity, relaxation and a little exercise - this is the place.
