"Fantastic location right next to Gare de Tours. 15min walk to historic Vieux Tours. We had a lovely view of the train station which itself is beautiful to look at. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were offered a free glass of wine during their happy hour (6-8pm). While our room was compact it had almost everything we needed. The only improvement would be a mini-fridge in the room. We didn't get the breakfast but it looked decent. Not sure if it is worth €18 compared to other options nearby. We had an excellent brunch nearby at Paula which was about €12. We would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel staff are courteous and attentive. Lobby and dining room welcoming and efficient. Food was good. The housekeeping is outstanding. Our cleaners were excellent and accommodating. This is a bus tour hotel and the tours are well managed and guests add lively vibe to dining room. The swimming pool which is a huge asset, needs refurbishment. The liner is loose in places and water quality only adequate. It was closed for 1.5 days of 4 night stay. Biggest problem was pool ladder (one step on the ladder was missing and one side of the achor was detaching) was broken so getting in and out of pool was perilous, particularly for older adults. This is a great, practical hotel but it needs some repair."

"La Maison Rabelais is in the heart of Amboise – well-located and nearly everything is an easy 5-10 minute walk, though the train station is on the other side of the river by 1.5 mi, necessitating a ride. Very nice breakfast – hearty and copious. While the property does NOT have A/C, the room (big and spacious) stayed cool however the ventilation system was configured. It was a little warm at night but not uncomfortable, especially considering afternoons were near 100 F/38 C. Definitely a nice property."

"Beautiful old-world hotel right in the centre of Tours. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and the hotel staff very kindly upgraded us to one of the suites! We loved the room and its art deco style: huge space, big bathroom and the aircon was excellent. Excellent breakfasts and the staff were so kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend!"

"We stayed here for one night as a stop-over break on our journey to Southern France and Tours is a great place to relax and eat out. This hotel was in very good condition, very clean, friendly staff right in the centre of the city with off-road secure parking. We had a family room, which was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was included for free in the price which made it very good value and the children were able to eat well with lots of choice. Checking in/out was very straightforward. The only reason it wasn’t a 5* review was that we would have liked some drink making facilities in the room to make coffee/tea which isn’t much to ask for. Otherwise a very good cost effective hotel to stay."
