We arrived at Matt's Rest after several very hectic days of work for a place to rest before traveling back to our home. The B & B exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean, the beds exceptionally comfortable. The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The breakfast was very pleasing. Overall the B & B is in a quiet neighborhood with no distractions or noise. We will definitely consider staying here the next time we are in this part of South Africa.

The rooms themselves were great and the breakfast was delicious. However, there is a shared kitchen which is available to prepare any other meals…it is not in good condition at all and needs some serious TLC if the space is to be offered for guest use. For example the oven is FILTHY, the sink is perpetually full of used, dirty dishes and cutlery/crockery/glasses/cookware all need to be upgraded/replaced. I think the shared space is a great idea, but it has to be drastically improved to reflect...
