Hotels in Fafe

Really special hotel in a great location of Guimaraes. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, and cater to whatever you need. Breakfast was great. For Europe, these rooms are huge, and charmingly decorated. Pool and patio were great. We will definitely stay here again.

Clean well kept rooms with an excellent breakfast very near the university.

Hotel is about up to US standards, but I needed to go to Guimaraes and I did not understand how far this hotel in Fafe was from Guimaraes until I arrived at the hotel. The bus station is a 10 min walk down the street, but the last buses are at 830 and 1015 from Guimaraes to the hotel in Fafe. But the hotel is good and the staff are great.

We stayed in this place for 4 nights and had an experience of a lifetime. Staff were just absolutely respectful, professional and accommodating of our needs anytime. The food is like an other hotel where selections are limited. However, we would still rate their food with 4 stars. They have a complete facility of pool indoor and outdoor, spa, and gym with a big wine cellar and a scenic landscape wherever you look. Carlos was very helpful& gave us great restaurant recommendations& sights to see. The two rooms were great. Spotlessly Clean& we had room 1 ( the best) great new bathroom& beautiful ceilings. Room 2 had beautiful ceilings & much smaller bathroom so if your very tall ( my son 6 feet 7 inches) get bedroom 1 . Great beds & sheets. Breakfast wonderful. We very much enjoyed our one night stay. Clean bedroom and bath. The building is of historic design. The exterior and interior walls are of large granite blocks. The hotel is located in the country site, it is quiet and has a very helpful and accommodating staff. We would like to go back for a longer stay.

My wife and I stayed here while visiting Peneda-Gerês National Park. Sao Bento was a fantastic location for exploring the park and trails in the surrounding area. The hotel is a short 10-15-minute drive to Campo do Geres, where we went on a great hike (Cidade da Calcedónia trail) followed by a terrific drive through the park, along the Rio Homem (lake) to the Spanish border, and back down N-308-1. Only thing we regret is that we only started one night here as we on the way from Portugal to Spain! We couldn’t say enough about this historical hotel and can’t wait to expect one day we return for the longer stay. The property is lovely and peaceful. The hotel is beautifully appointed. The staff is very professional and the food and wine is good. We stayed 5 days, and we cannot wait to visit again.
