"Do not let the exterior fool you. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are relatively spacious compared to other European hotel rooms, you have a private bath, there's no a/c but the windows open and there's a fan. The breakfast buffet was minimalist, but there is a communal kitchen to which you have access 24/7. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is located a block from a grocery store and less than a mile from Gamla Stan. The hostess is incredibly friendly. I cannot say enough good things...

"Hildas is very friendly and personal hotel, only a few minutes walk from Kalmars city center. We stayed there for two days during Ironman Kalmar. Their staf is very accomodating and solution oriented for all our requests and people we met have been staying there a few weeks at the time for like ages - the best way of expressing a review I belive."

"Our room was very comfortable. I appreciate that the windows opened for ventilation and didn’t mind the chorus of rooks roosting in the tree outside the window. The beer and food were very good. The breakfast was a full Swedish frukost with two kinds of pickled herring (very good) and a lovely veined blue cheese. The staff were very helpful and happy to lock our bags in a closet between check out and our departure time from Kalmar. I have booked to stay there when I return in a week."

"Stora Frogarten is a reallynice place to getaway. Scenic, quiet with a ocean view and short walk to water. The cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable. Don’t forget to bring your own bedding.. we didn’t and got an extra charge. (didn’t read the fine print) "
