"A great hotel with a beautiful view of the lake. The room I had booked did not have a proper window (it was essentially subterranean), but it was very clean and for the very low price, totally worth it. The breakfast was excellent - very good cold meats, cheeses, jams, breads, and coffee. They even had a machine to boil eggs, which was great. Overall I had a great stay and would gladly return"

Aarau is an adorable old walled city with a river running through it and the hotel is charming, but also completely renovated inside. Staff was super nice. Bottled water and breakfast was included.
The hotel has an electronic check-in process, which I found fairly easy to use. The staff was friendly and accommodating for common requests. The view was not that great. You will definitely need a rental car or use Uber to get around. There is a nice local bar nearby that has a nice selection of beers and food. The parking lot is located across the street from the hotel so it's a little inconvenient when there is road traffic during the day.
A unique setting in a beautiful area. The hotel is located right next to the Rhine River in a scenic location where the river moves rapidly with a soothing sound. The view also includes a small island that is a pedestrian park. The surrounding historic center city is well preserved and gives you a real feeling for what the area looked like in the Middles Ages.
