Wonderful place! Great location- 10 minute walk from train station and 5 from Altstadt and shops, cafes and bars. Has a great garden bar area and dining room. It's Europe, has no a/c like many Europeanhotels- so in the Summer, bring fans and ask for one for your room.
Aarau is an adorable old walled city with a river running through it and the hotel is charming, but also completely renovated inside. Staff was super nice. Bottled water and breakfast was included.
Stayed 4days/3 nights.Took some getting used to. 1st flr reception&restaurant are modern, but the rest was more medical than 'spa'. Not what we were expecting, so took time to appreciate. Rooms-simple, spacious,comfortable&very clean. Furniture in great shape. Bathroom had window to room reducing privacy. BUT you see balcony view, so appreciated the decision. We paid extra for valleyview & it didn't disappoint! Altho a little loud at times w/tractors,cows&cars, but it was gorgeous &every sunset...

Tip: If you have a car, pull into the parking garage when you get close to the bottom of the hill, we took a few laps around trying to figure out where to go. Bring your stub with you to the hotel to validate for a cheaper parking rate
Very good staff and owners. They went out of their way to ensure a great stay. Be sure to book a spa time. Very relaxing. Great meal for dinner. Good breakfast. Charming old hotel with character. Bed was the best we’ve had in a month of travel....
Hotel is extremely close to the train station. It is very expansive and newly remodeled. Room was very clean and well appointed. Breakfast had everything we could think of, including pancake maker, eggs and lox.
We enjoyed the great facilities (restaurants, bars, lobbies, outside campus of the Institute...), the delicious breakfast, large confortable rooms.
It was close enough to Luzern to visit easily.
