We had a wonderful time in Kranjska Gora and in particular in Garni Hotel Miklic. A literal slice of heaven. Sadly we were only passing through on our way to a wedding in Italy, but after the way we were treated at this place, we are currently planning a full vacation here. This was a great location for our road trip. The scenery is incredible. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good.

Excellent hotel in quiet Julian Alps, big and clean room, great spa (excellent massage). Ideal for all king of outdoor activities. Breakfast is good. Person at reception speak excellent English, are welcoming and helpful. Would go back again.

View from the living area is awesome, can see the snow - capped mountains while enjoying your morning coffee. The sauna is a wonderful surprise! Place is very close to Lake Jasna, a very underrated lake in our opinion.

We stayed a total of four nights while hiking in the Julian Alps. The hotel was very accommodating, at one point allowing us to extend an extra night when the weather was bad. The staff (whose English overall was quite good) also helped us change a reservation at one of the mountain huts. The breakfast buffet is generous, and the free wi-fi was easy to use and had a good connection. We would stay at the Kompas again if in KG.

The property is recently renovated, clean and in a perfect location. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Upon arrival the staff was extremely helpful and very polite. We had our dog with us and they suggested places to go with him that he would enjoy. They were spot on. The room was very clean and perfect for the 4 of us. The only suggestion is that the front entry is not great for rolling heavy suitcases into the lobby. The staff were amazingly welcoming and pleasant! The dinner and breakfast could compete with the best hotels in the largest cities. The scenery is other worldly. Peace permeates the whole place. You can't choose a better hotel in the area.

The best things about this hotel are that it is a 1-minute walk from Villach HbF; the rooms (at least mine) were clean and quiet, despite proximity to the train (and bus) station; the desk staff was friendly; and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. It's a 10-minute stroll from the old town and the most scenic part of Villach.

Biker-friendly place, and the owner also does very nice airbrush art.
