Absolutely wonderful!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Manos and his staff went above and beyond to make sure EVERYONE took care of us. We felt like royalty!!! Rent a car and you are centrally located on the island to almost drive anywhere. Wonderful hotel. V good size room overlooking the pool with everything you'd want. Staff were very pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. In particular, Alexandra on reception was always helpful and polite, as were Dora, Artemis and Balaz at the bar and in the dining area. I'd recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

The staff here is so friendly. The pools were great and the location is perfect... Not too far off the major highway and walking distance to my favorite little town on the island, Sisi (tons of restaurant and shopping).

This is a hotel where both management and staff understand the meaning of service. All are well trained friendly, efficient.. This was our second visit and if anything the service and environment of the hotel had improved on last year. The immediate local area is a little tacky and off putting but this does not impact on the hotel grounds and there is at least one good café within a short stroll of the hotel.

Elounda Mare is an absolute gem. Hidden in the Elounda hillside as if the hotel grew out of the landscape and with a sweeping view of a cerulean blue bay, this is a hotel to be reckoned with. The Chateau & Relais association is earned here as the level of service is truly 5 star. Just loved it! I wasn’t sure when I booked. I thought it might be too big for this boutique hotel lover, but The Alexander did not disappoint. Warm and friendly staff, lovely ocean/beach and gardens in picturesque groupings of small clusters of rooms which are all easily accessible to the central hotel and dining areas. The Notos Heights was not yet open so we were put up in a suite in the Socrates, near the beach. However, we really felt the need to make a high recommendation to the Staff who are owners of both sites. We had a great experience at the Elounda Hotel & Villas! We would highly recommend the seaview villas, which are right on the water, with a large deck overlooking the beautiful Meditaranean! The hotel is newly renovated but the workmanship is not the best. In general the staff were very enthusiastic and friendly. The seafront room is worth the few dollars more, you get amazing sunrise I’m direct view but the street below can be a bit noisy from youngsters partying till wee hours in the morning. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Every question we had, were address on the very confident and knowledge level. People who work there (and also across the island) speak at least several languages because of the multi cultured tourists and visitors they have to deal with.
