I'll be traveling to Heerbrugg on business regularly after this trip. Most colleagues stay in Dornbirn across the border, but they were all sold out. Found this place and was on the St. Gallan to Heerbrugg rail line so I gave it a try. Amazing. Better cost value than the Sheraton Four Points in Austria. True castle with all modern room amenities. Honor system for helping myself to a bier after desk closed. So unbelievably quiet inside during the night time. Fabulous restaurant. Beautiful...
A beautiful fairly new hotel right in the center of the city. The underground parking is wonderful. The staff was very helpful. Room was huge - we even had a sitting room. The bathroom was fantastic - large and the shower was enclosed so no water on the floor. A/c worked well and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was extensive with lots of options for cheese, meats, fruit and eggs. It's an easy walk to the main shopping street and the lake. We had a lovely drink lakeside and then dinner a...
Plus side: The view was spectacular, right on the lake. The room was comfortable.
Down side: The restaurant doesn't have a very robust array of dishes to choose from.
Parking didn't always work...a license plate reader was supposed to raise the gate when it recognized our car but we were stuck at the gate twice during our stay.
Older guest house in a quite small town right down from train station and a brief walk to the lake. Son of owner spoke excellent English. House has been in family for 200 plus years. Awesome dinners, affordable and authentic. Eat here at least one night. Breakfast was okay and simple. Wifi was touch and go. We stayed after looking around neuschwanstein castle because the next day we were leaving for Switzerland. Hotel is located in a nice area. Lots of grass and trees. Lots of grocery stores near by. Hotel room is clean and big. Has everything you need to rest. Hotel employees are super friendly and breakfast is very nice.
